2006 - Present
The Macedonian Aikido Federation - Aikikai Macedonia was founded in the autumn of 2006. Throughout its history of organization, the organization has always sought to promote and develop domestic Aikido life and to improve and advance the Macedonian-Japanese friendship relations. In line with its current opportunities in these areas, voluntary work by its members has now made it the largest Aikido alliance in Macedonia, with 6 dojos as members. Its main goal is implementation of the international quality standards and methodologies in teaching Aikido in the spirit of its founder Morihei Ueshiba. We are on our way to get recognised by the Aikikai Foundation in Japan, and become a member of the International Aikido Federation.
Membership in the federation is individual, but conditioned by being an active member of a dojo which is affiliated with the federation.
All our policies are in accordance with the International rules issued by Hombu dojo, Aikikai Foundation, Tokio, Japan.
Apart from the legaly needed governance body, the federation has established a Techical commision which is in charge of the technical aspects of the art.
Our structure on a technical level, acording to our Statute, is based on mutual respect and freedom of choice concerning technical leadership, of course, as long as it is Aikikai Hombu recognised. In this respect, there are two lines of teaching at present. One group of dojos is technicaly supervised bu Michele Quaranta shihan, and the other is supervised by Urban Aldenklint shihan. Both groups have different teachings programs and examinations programs, but get together for the occasion of exams, seminars and other activities.
We strongly believe that unity, togetherness and jointment are the core values of Aikido spirit!
